With the EBGD-project we bridge the gap between the game industry and health care institutions. Feedback from both sectors indicates a growing need for insight regarding the use and effectiveness of serious games, existing best practices and tools to develop a serious game. During the project both sectors cooperated on five cases, developing game prototypes and game design documents that demonstrated the added value of serious games in health care, which provided a solid basis for the project partners to contact the game industry for possible further cooperation. Additional knowledge transfer was provided through workshops, master classes and study days.

During the project the results were constantly linked back to education and introduced in the modules of the programmes. The feedback received then introduced back to the research project. This cycle ensures the strenghtening of both education and research. The developed cases and other industry examples were bundled and published.
